TOENAIL FUNGUS TREATMENT:
Which One is Right? Are you Confused?Common Nail Fungus Infection Symptoms
The symptoms of nail fungus depend on the type of infection that you have. It is importan to properly diagnose your nail fungus, so you may apply the proper nail fungus treatment.
Let’s take a look at the two most common types of nail fungus infections: “onychomycosis” and “distal subungual onychomycosis.” Both of these infections are caused by dermatophytes (a label used for three types of fungus that affect the skin and nails) – in fact, 90% of all toenail fungus infections are caused by dermatophytes.

A distal subungual onychomycosis fungal infection generally causes some discomfort, but is not typically painful. It affects both the nail and the skin underneath the nail. The most common symptoms for this type of infection are discolored nails, yellow or brown streaks in the nail bed and underneath the nail, thickened nails, brittle or broken nails, and in severe cases, nails that become completely detached and fall off. This is the most common type of infection out of the two.
An onychomycosis fungal infection only affects the surface of the nail. The most common symptoms for this type of infection are white spots or streaks on the nail surface and a soft nail surface to the touch. You will know if an infection is in a more advance stage if the nail surface becomes brown or gets crumbly. Despite these symptoms, however, infections of this type will typically never result in the nail completely detaching itself. This is the second most common type of infection.
If you suffer from either of these types of nail fungus infections, know that there is a nail fungus cure that is effective, easy to apply, and readily available.
Catch infections early, treat them appropriately, and put your best foot (and hand) forward.
